We are proud of our inclusive culture and celebrate it internally and externally.

We are a world-leading consumer health company with a clear purpose to deliver better everyday health with humanity. Our leading brands are built on science, innovation and human understanding and are trusted by millions of consumers globally.

We are committed to mobilising our purpose in a way that represents the diverse consumers and communities who trust and rely on our brands every day. It guides us in creating an inclusive culture, where different backgrounds and views are valued and respected – all in support of understanding and best serving the needs of our consumers and unleashing the full potential of our people.

It’s important to us that Haleon is a place where all our employees feel they truly belong.

Guiding principles

Reflecting our commitment to represent our consumers and employees, our work on inclusion and belonging is guided by four key principles:

  • We strive to create an environment that represents the different backgrounds and experiences of our consumers and communities who rely on our brands, where everyone can reach their full potential and perform at their best.
  • Fairness, opportunity and inclusion are strategic priorities for us, and we aspire to provide equal opportunities for all employees, work to mitigate bias, and lead inclusively.
  • We continue to hire and promote the best talent on merit, with clear selection criteria to ensure objective decisions.
  • We develop health inclusivity programmes which build health literacy and address barriers to better everyday health in wider society.

As a truly global business operating in around 170 markets, we recognise the need to respect the different societal, cultural and regulatory dynamics that make our local markets unique, while staying true to our purpose and cultural aspirations.

Our progress so far

We are proud of what we’ve built and the impact that our work continues to have on providing an inclusive and supportive environment. This includes:

Global Inclusion & Belonging (I&B) Council

  • Our Global I&B Council meets quarterly, sets priorities and drives accountability to initiate, fund and oversee the implementation of our global I&B activities.

Our policies

  • We introduced a market-leading Global Parental Leave Policy, which gives all new parents - regardless of gender or sexuality, where they live, or how long they have worked with us - 26-weeks fully paid leave. It means that all employees, whether having a child biologically, via surrogacy or through adoption, should not have to choose between raising a young family and progressing their careers.
  • We have also introduced a Global Caregivers Policy, which offers four weeks of paid leave within a calendar year for employees needing to care for a critically ill family member. This applies to all employees who have a permanent role with us, no matter which country they live in on or how long they’ve worked for us. With caring responsibilities often falling to women, this is another policy which we expect to have a positive impact on our employees’ careers and progression at Haleon.

Our Employee Resource Groups

  • We have four global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as well as several local ERGs. They are open to all and give our employees a voice in contributing to enhancing inclusion across our company.
  • Our global ERGs are focused on: Race/Ethnicity, Disability, LGBTQ+, and Gender.

Recognition

  • We’ve been recognised by FTSE Women Leaders Review as one of the top ten performers amongst the UK FTSE100 in 2022, 2023 and 2024 for gender balance and women’s representation.

We continue to explore ways in which we can support other areas of inclusion and belonging, in line with our ambition to be a truly inclusive organisation.
