Health Inclusivity

Our community investment strategy is targeted towards addressing the three barriers to health inclusivity that we’re determined to drive action on: health literacy, healthcare accessibility and bias and prejudice.
We identify opportunities where we can have the most impact, providing local and global voluntary donations to charities, through monetary, product, time, and in-kind donations.
Central to our efforts is working closely with our trusted partners. Together, we pair Haleon’s healthcare expertise, products, strategic charitable investments, and the passion of our people, with our partners’ infrastructure and intimate understanding of the issues faced by our communities, to deliver impactful programmes.
In the US, our partnership with Remote Area Medical enabled us to provide people in underserved communities and disaster areas, with free urgent healthcare.
In partnership with Buddy4Study and IDA, in India we launched the Sensodyne IDA Shining Star scholarship to support underprivileged students pursuing the four year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course in Government colleges or Government funded colleges[1].
[1] This is a 3-year scholarship supporting up to 300 students. By the end of 2022, we had selected 143 students for support.
Haleon continues to support Smile Train’s vital work to transform the lives of children and families in need of cleft surgery and other comprehensive cleft care, including nutritional support, orthodontics and speech services, in over 75 countries worldwide.
Through funding toll-free cleft hotlines in India and Nigeria, we’re helping to connect people with clefts and their families to the support and information they need. In addition, together, we are breaking down barriers to cleft care access and providing specialised education to local cleft professionals, including surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nurses, dentists, speech therapists, and nutritionists. We have also delivered in-store campaigns with retail partners helping to raise the profile of Smile Train’s work.
Our volunteering programme is called Haleon Helps: a name chosen by our employees.
Around the world, our employees continue to give back to local communities in a variety of ways, including through food bank volunteering. From Australia, Colombia, Malaysia, to the USA, teams have donated their time to ensure nutritional meals are available to those in need.
To support Earth Day 2023, Haleon colleagues volunteered for beach clean-ups and recycling drives, planted trees and worked to create healthier spaces for communities and wildlife alike.
